The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office has received numerous reports of a scam going around through text messages and want citizens to be aware. The messages are claiming to be from the Minnesota Department of Vehicles (DMV). They state you are in violation of Minnesota State Administrative Code 15C-16.003 related to an outstanding ticket.

Jeffery Allen Bingham (6/6/1983) has been arrested in connection to reported burglaries in the Greenwood and Vermilion Lake townships. Deputies have received numerous reports of burglaries and thefts in the area over the past couple of weeks. Through information received from local residence and cabin owners the Sheriff’s Office was able to develop Bingham as a suspect. He was arrested and booked into the St. Louis County Jail on Friday, May 30, on charges of Burglary.
