Join the Photographer’s Club at NWFA
Welcome to Allegra Dengler, a wildlife photographer from New York who is summering on Lake Vermilion! Northwoods Friends of the Arts is so pleased that Allegra wishes to begin a Photography Club at NWFA Gallery on Thursday, July 10, at 11 a.m. The meeting will be held in the Wolfe Den classroom at 210 S. River St. in Cook, NWFA Gallery adjacent to DreamWeaver Salon and Spa.

Cook Covenant Church’s Timber Days plans
In lieu of meeting for Sunday worship at the Covenant Church in Cook on Sunday, June 15, our Worship Team will lead Sunday Worship at the Gazebo at 11 AM that day for Timber Days. The June 15th offering will help support sending an area youngster for a week at Covenant Park Bible Camp at Park Lake near Mahtowa, MN. The special youngster will be announced on Monday, June 16, as entered in the drawing box at the Cook Covenant Booth by Sunday closing time and with the approval of their parents. The church has long supported sending kids of any background, whether or not they attend Cook Covenant, for an enjoyable, inspirational week of summer camp.
Ruby’s Pantry food distribution is June 12
The next Ruby’s Pantry will be a drivethrough food distribution at the old Cook School north side on Thursday, June 12, 4:30-6 p.m.; $25 cash donation.
Open House: Moccasin Point Public Water Access on Lake Vermilion to receive extensive upgrades
The DNR invites the public to an open house to learn more about this exciting project.
Local student named to spring honors list
Central Lakes College, Brainerd and Staples, has announced its 2025 spring semester honors lists. The President’s List includes students who earned a grade-point average of 3.75 to 4.0 while enrolled for at least 12 credits. Included on the list from this area is Lisha Pearson of Angora.
