Try making “ghost garlands” by drawing faces on white tissue paper wrapped around lollipops—tie them with orange ribbon and hang them across your doorway. Empty milk jugs make perfect glowing ghosts; just draw faces with a black marker, cut a small opening in the back, and drop in a battery tea light.

First Baptist Church of Cook celebrates Fall Family Festival

September 27 - With temperatures above average, it was a perfect day for First Baptist’s fifth annual Fall Family Festival. Members, family, friends, and community gathered at the open event at Kit and Char Olson’s farm. As each vehicle arrived, a new dish was added to the smorgasbord. The tables were filled and everyone enjoyed a breakfast of eggs, sausages, breads, cakes, donuts, and more. Games were set around the yard and the air was filled with exuberant conversations and laughter.

Monetary donations may be mailed to the Cook Food Shelf at: P.O. Box 633, Cook, MN 55723. Non-perishable food donations may be left at area churches, plus State Farm and Zup’s Food Market in Cook. For more information, call 666-2715.

Donate old eyeglasses

The Cook Lions Club will take old eyeglasses for the needy. Glasses may be dropped off at Scenic Rivers Cook Medical Clinic, Cook Hospital, North Star Credit Union, and First National Bank.
