We had a very nice week with some rain. which isn’t what we need, but we will take it.

Dave Borchert and Jane came up on Saturday to spend a couple of days with Dan and Geri Hoffman. We had a good time. Sunday evening we went to dinner with Dave and Jane, Scott and Mary Hoffman at Nelson’s Resort. Sunday we played in the Buyck Open at the Vermilion River Greens.

The Buyck Open had eight teams who played 18 holes on Sunday. First-place team was Tyae Pattenn’s, Rob Rutar and Yvette Rutar with a score of 65. Second-place: Brandon Anderson team, Addison Kilibarda and DJ with a score of 68. Third-place: Dan Will’s team, Denny Jensen and Patty Overbye with a score of 72. Skins No. 9 hole: Troy Brett’s team, No. 11 hole: Brandon Anderson’s team, No. 14: Jason Whittemore’s team. Longest Putt: Yvette Rutar; Closest to the pin: Chris Maki.

Cribbage winner this week at the VRT was Cory Vandervort. Patty Overbye had a high hand with a 24.

Elizabeth Prescher and family spent a week at Trail’s End Resort. They did lots of fishing and trail riding and then did some golfing on Friday. I heard they had a great vacation.

The Cribb Boys are back for a while; they had company, Thomas and Kayla. They had a great weekend. Mike and Jeff will remain here until the following week.

The S.H.A.F.T. annual fishing trip was on Monday as they always have it on the first Monday of August. It was a little smaller group than usual, but they caught lots of fish. The guys enjoyed a fish fry along with grilled bratwurst and the traditional gin and tonic. Everyone had a great day. It was a little rainy, but the rain stopped and it turned out to be a great afternoon to enjoy the fish fry and fish stories. Dale Bookwalters did a great job frying the fish as always.
