Vincent Kajala, Tower, MN is the recipient of the 2025 Haarfager Lodge #40, Sons of Norway, scholarship. He graduated this Spring from the North Woods High School in Cook and was attending MN North Mesabi as a full-time PSEO student. He will be graduating from there in May 2026 with his AA degree when he plans to transfer to a university to pursue a degree in Business. He and his brother own and operate EVK Services in Cook offering yard maintenance, property management and snow removal.

The $500 Haarfager Lodge scholarship is eligible to a Lodge member or a child, grandchild, niece, nephew or step-child of a current member. A requirement is an essay about what their Norwegian heritage means to those applying for the scholarship. Vincent was sponsored by his grandmother Priscilla Hiipakka of Cook.

Vincent was awarded the scholarship at the Lodge’s Syttende Mai banquet on May 15th which was presented by the Scholarship Chair Nancy Roseen.
