July’s Artist Fun: 80 Sq. Inches of Art
Northwoods Friends of the Arts in Cook will feature its July exhibit, “80 Square Inches” (of fun), opening July 2 until July 26 with a grand reception celebrating the participating artists on Friday, July 11, from 5 to 7 p.m., at NWFA Gallery, 210 S. River St., adjacent to DreamWeaver Salon.
This exhibit project began in April when artists were invited to purchase and create on an 8×10 canvas. They were invited to work in any medium they liked to create a work of art: slashing, burning, quilting, painting, drawing or carving with endless ideas.
Some of these “80 Squares” will be on sale during the month of July, so you don’t want to miss this exhibit or the reception celebrating the artists on July 11. The gallery is constantly renewed with new art by artists who display at NWFA Gallery year-round.
If artists haven’t returned their canvas, they may deliver their entries with registration forms at the gallery during gallery hours (10-4 Wednesday, Thursday or Friday, and 9-1 Saturday) until Saturday, June 28, the day of the Monroe Crossing Concert.
