I have a wonderful story to share from one of the local residents, Jim

Parsons.

Rylynn Klemz, great-granddaughter of Jim Parsons, is a freshman at North

Newton High School of Indiana. On the 14th of June, she was playing

Varsity Girls Softball at Purdue University for the State Championship

of class I.A. and they won the State Championship. She played catcher

the whole game. For the whole game, she and the team also tied a state

record for not allowing any runs in the whole tournament. That’s six

prior ball games without allowing a single run. Now, that is amazing if

you ask me. Jim said he is really proud of this young lady. I have to

say while Jim was telling me this wonderful story he was one proud

grandfather.

I am really glad we are getting some rain. We sure do need this rain.

The garden is really happy because rain is much better than well water.

Just hope we don’t get too much. You know how last summer wasn’t the

best season for the gardens.

Last weekend there were lots of activities going on in Cook for Timber

Days. They had a Bean Bags tournament where a couple of local boys,

Scott and Rob Rutar, played and they were runners-up. I heard a few guys

played golf in Cook and had a pretty good day of golf.

Jimmy Cook was up last weekend visiting town. It’s been a while since we

saw any Cook Boys in town.

I heard Scott Rutar and Ian Olson brought their dads to the Wilderness

Golf Course for Father’s Day. They sure had a great day. The weather was

perfect.
