The Labor Day weekend was very busy with lots of people in the area. The local businesses have to be very happy with all the business. The weather was beautiful and a little hot, but I will take it. The weather can change in an instant.

The VRT held their Corn Hole (Bean Bags) Tournament on Saturday and had lots of teams show up. It was a great afternoon of Bags being played. First Place: Rob and Scotty Rutar, Second Place: Dan and Luke Blood, Third Place: Jake Blood and Pat Knaptha. I heard that Stacy Will made four ringers in a row. Now that is some record. Congratulations, Stacy.

Thursday evening the Daniels invited all of the cousins to meet them at the VRT to visit with Randy’s brother Tracy and his daughter Kari. It was a great evening to get together and enjoy a nice dinner and just socialize. The Hoffmans and the Daniels had a little reunion.

The 2025 Tab Challenge for the Ronald McDonald House was held in Crane Lake over the weekend. This Challenge is an annual event held on Labor Day weekend by a group of people. The winners this year were the Jeff Turebenbach, Mankato Boys, Ty and Jeannie Shuck team versus the Tufte group. They got a total of 169,000 tabs collected. That is a lot of tabs and what a great challenge. This is a great cause.

Myrtle Lake Resort held their 3rd Annual Community Celebration on Sunday, Aug. 31. The food was amazing and the music with Ron E. Cash was as good as it gets. Everyone enjoyed a great day of food and music. The weather was amazing. You can’t beat that for the summer-ending party of the season.
