Fishing report!
Week #14 August 12-18, 2025
Water temp: 70-73
We had a very good and consistent week of fishing this week! The quality of fish right now is very impressive as it has been the whole year!
We pulled lead core all week long in 18-25’ of water across the mud flats. Speed has been a huge factor this week more than the previous! Some days they want it right at 2.0 and other days anywhere between 2-2.5 will produce fish! Shad style baits are my go to and color has mattered but it’s changed almost daily it seems on what they want.
Getting away from boats is a huge key as some spots are getting hit very hard and the fish seem to be responding negatively to pressure. Usually our first pass is the best.
There is a spinner rig bite and that is a good option for anyone not wanting to pull lead. The jigging rap bite is also slowly picking up, better late than never I suppose! We really need some colder weather to really get the fish fired up and the water temps to drop below 70 consistently.
Short report this week! Lead core is an awesome time for the entire family! I’ve had a bunch of families in the boat this week and everyone is having a blast! My schedule is basically full until September with the exception of August 22,27, and 28th mornings. If you want an evening trip don’t hesitate to call or text (218) 404-9200 and we can discuss options as I have a few options available at the end of the month if a morning opening doesn’t work for you!
As always, tight lines!
