Sweet Treats and a Loving Tribute at Kandyz N Konez

By Kristy Kalpak

Right on Main Street in Gilbert, Kandyz N Konez stands out as more than just an ice cream shop—it’s a heartfelt tribute to a young woman whose bright spirit lives on in every scoop and smile.

After the tragic loss of her 22-year-old daughter, Molly, the shop’s owner transformed the outside of the store into what she lovingly calls “Mollywood.” It’s a vibrant, joyful display filled with colorful decorations, flowers, and playful touches—still being added to by shop owner and mother, Jennifer.

Molly had a special gift with children and spent her days working at a daycare. That love is reflected all around the shop—painted objects, cheerful blow-up decor, and a beautiful white arch stand in her honor. Kids will find plenty to love here, from spinning toys and sweet treats to the magical, welcoming atmosphere.

Outside, families can enjoy their ice cream at shaded tables or just relax and take in the colorful surroundings. Inside, the shop is clean, nostalgic, and full of charm, serving up Cedar Crest ice cream, fresh popcorn, and a wide selection of candy and kid-friendly gifts. It smells so good in there, people have asked them to make candles out of it!

Kandyz N Konez isn’t just a place to grab dessert—it’s a place built on love, memory, and community. And whether you’re there for a cone, a treat, or just a moment of sunshine, it’s well worth the visit.

Molly’s spirit lives on at Kandyz N Konez, serving as a reminder of how deeply suicide affects families and entire communities. Her story encourages us to look out for one another and speak up when someone needs help.
