Cook Covenant Church’s Timber Days plans
In lieu of meeting for Sunday worship at the Covenant Church in Cook on Sunday, June 15, our Worship Team will lead Sunday Worship at the Gazebo at 11 AM that day for Timber Days. The June 15th offering will help support sending an area youngster for a week at Covenant Park Bible Camp at Park Lake near Mahtowa, MN. The special youngster will be announced on Monday, June 16, as entered in the drawing box at the Cook Covenant Booth by Sunday closing time and with the approval of their parents. The church has long supported sending kids of any background, whether or not they attend Cook Covenant, for an enjoyable, inspirational week of summer camp.

In addition to providing our community with information on protecting children and their families, prevent domestic abuse, sex trafficking, and empower victims, we will welcome everyone while reading aloud from the New Testament.
Cook Covenant Church regards the Holy Bible as the Word of God, and so we will have a “booth” 10×10 space at Timber Days on Friday starting at Noon, and Saturday and Sunday starting at 10 AM, where volunteers from a number of area churches will take a turn (or more if you wish) reading through the New Testament.
New Testament Readathon, starting with Matthew 1 and we will see how far we get by the end of Sunday afternoon.
Begin at Matthew’s Gospel, chapter 1 and continue through as many New Testament books as we can by Sunday closing!
On the first day, a signup sheet will be posted. Every 15 minutes the reader will change (so no one gets hoarse).
A poster at the booth will show which book of the N.T. Is being read.
Your friends, or your child who can read, are also welcome to take a turn, just sign up for the time you want.
We will have a little table, chairs, water & ice, and little snacks for readers.
Afterward, visit the rest of Timber Days and partake in activities and delicious foods.
I’ve done the Bible Readathon at Virginia in previous years, and it is energizing to read what God inspired in His servants to write almost two millenia ago. I hope when you come to Timber Days, you’ll come by Friday, Saturday, or Sunday and take a short (15 minute) turn to read and encourage others to read the great documented record of our faith, the Bible’s New Testament.
